City of Bern
Why it matters
- This project shows our ability to build grounded and believable environments from scratch.
- It reflects how we balance procedural efficiency with manual precision, making it useful for tourism, education, marketing, or any experience that needs a world that feels real.
Overview
Our team handled most of the pipeline including terrain, modeling, look development, texturing, lighting, and compositing. The base elevation was generated using Houdini Heightfield tools and matched to a real 3D scan of the city. Buildings were assembled using modular parts and placed manually to reflect the city’s actual layout.

Behind The Scenes
Trees were scattered procedurally with logic to avoid roads and intersections. Texturing was mostly procedural, with specific assets treated individually for added detail. Final rendering and compositing were done using projection-based workflows in Nuke.
